The underground storm water retention facility has been completed, and hook up
to the existing storm system in Delp Road has been done. We will be
recycling the old pavement material by having it ground up and used as stone
for the new parking lot. We should be able to use the new parking lot
within the next two weeks. If this weather continues to cooperate we may
even get some black top down. If not, the parking lot stone will be
rolled for compaction and we will use it for parking during the remainder of
the winter. Once this is complete focus will shift to the hook up and
trenching of utilities, geo-thermal well drilling, and preparation of the pad
site for building construction. In particular we will be digging across Delp
Road in order to connect to the existing public water on the other side of the
street. This will enable us to abandon our current well.
Building plans are being submitted to the township for permits. Work also
continues with our acoustician relative to providing an atmosphere in the
sanctuary that supports congregational singing, unlike a lot of facilities
wherein most of the musical sound is coming from the front stage via
amplification. The building committee will be making decisions this week
regarding how we will navigate the many decisions that will need to be made in
the next several months. These include: exterior colors, interior colors,
lighting fixtures, flooring, cabinetry, millwork, sound system, furniture,
signage, etc.
Questions are welcomed
