Jane H. Peifer, Lead Pastor:

Jane has been pastor at Blossom Hill since September of 1999.  She received a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and a Masters of Divinity degree from Eastern Mennonite University .  She has 18 years of pastoral experience, and was ordained by Virginia Conference of Mennonite Church USA , in 1994.  She served on the Executive Board of Mennonite Church USA from 1999 – 2007.  She is the author of several children’s books.


Michelle Armster, Associate Pastor:

Michelle worked for Mennonite Central Committee for 12 years. During her employment, she was the director of Mennonite Conciliation Service (MCS) and co- director for the Office on Justice and Peacebuilding. In her positions, she provided resourcing, consulting and training for churches, agencies and communities on conflict transformation, and restorative justice. She has many years of extensive training and experience in meditation, facilitation, conciliation, restorative justice, arbitration, victim/offender mediation, anti-racism and alternatives to violence. She has served on various community boards and currently serves on the board of the Lancaster YWCA, the board of Spirit House, former board chair of the Lancaster Mediation Center- where she also serves as a volunteer mediator, and the Executive Committee of Lancaster NAACP. She graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary’s Masters of Divinity program in 2007. For the past 4 1/2 years, she served as a co-pastor of St. Andrew United Church of Christ in Lancaster, PA.  Equally as important, Michelle is a creative soul, weaving song and drama through all dimensions of her life. She enjoys creative writing, acting, and singing.


 
Doug Friesen, Associate Pastor of Community Life: 


Doug became associate pastor at Blossom Hill in January of 2005.  He is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of counseling experience working with children, teens, and adults.   Doug earned his doctoral degree in psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary.  Professionally, his areas of expertise include behavioral issues with children, teenage depression and anxiety, marital and family therapy, along with adult depression and anxiety.  Doug’s main responsibilities as part of the Pastoral Team are leading the men’s group, pastoral counseling, and forming, coordinating and resourcing small groups.
