About Linda Crockett

Linda Crockett directs the Samaritan Counseling Center's Walking Together: Support for Survivors of Family Violence program. She develops and provides most of the program’s professional trainings and community workshops, and has delivered keynotes and lectures for various types of audiences, including religious, medical, mental health and business professionals.

Linda is certified as a Sexual Assault Advocate in the state of Pennsylvania, and was awarded the Benjamin Rush Medal by the Lancaster Medical Society in 2003 for her work with victims of sexual assault. Since 2005, she has provided over 350 hours of staff education, consultation and clinical training on recognizing and responding to victims of domestic violence for Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster County’s largest employer and healthcare system.

Linda has published numerous articles on healing from the traumas of war and childhood sexual abuse. During the 1980s, as a church volunteer, she accompanied refugees and survivors of torture during the civil war in El Salvador. Her book, The Deepest Wound: How a Journey to El Salvador Led to Healing from Mother-Daughter Incest (2001, Writer's Showcase) was awarded first place in the "Life Stories" category in by Writer's Digest in March 2003. The Journal of Pastoral Care and Counseling recommends its use in seminary and graduate school classrooms, and by therapists and pastoral care providers.
